Erie news crews toured the recently completed LECOM John M. and Silvia M. Ferreti Medical Fitness and Wellness Center. After months of anticipation and excitment, the LECOM John M. and Silvia Ferretti Medical Fitness and Wellness Center is prepared to open its doors to the public. The center will officially open on Sunday, March 1. Silvia M. Ferretti, DO, LECOM Provost, Senior Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs, and Michael Hyek, phd, LECOM Medical Fitness and Wellness Center Director, greeted members of the local media at a press conference and tour to unveil the center, its programs and its mission. The LECOM Medical Fitness & Wellness Center offers membership programs and services for individuals who want to improve their quality of life and overall health and well-being. Unlike traditional fitness centers, members experiences will begin with personalized Health & Fitness assessments conducted by a health promotion expert. In keeping with the Osteopathic philosophy of nurturing the mind, body and spirit, the staff of the Wellness Center will approach health and fitness from a holistic, medically integrated perspective. The center is named for the parents of Dr. Ferretti’s and her brothers, LECOM President John M. Ferretti, DO and LECOM Clinical Dean Anthony Ferretti, DO. The Wellness Center staff has prepared information about the various programs and services available through the center.
